Terms of service
Last updated November 3, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Diffbox (“Diffbox”, “we”) for using diffbox.app. If you use Diffbox for a company or team, you agree to them on its behalf. If you don't agree, please don't use Diffbox. Questions go to legal@diffbox.app.
1. Your account and team
You sign in with GitHub and must give accurate information. Every account belongs to at least one team, and teams are how Diffbox is used and paid for. Team admins manage members, the plan and billing. You're responsible for activity in your account and team, and for keeping your GitHub account secure.
2. Plans, seats and the free trial
- Plans are sold to teams, priced per seat per month, as shown on the pricing page.
- A free trial needs a payment method. Unless you cancel before it ends, the plan starts and is charged when the trial ends.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. Adding seats is charged when you add them; prices are in US dollars and exclude taxes unless stated.
- Each seat includes a monthly allowance of PR analyses, shared by the team. Unused analyses don't carry over. When the allowance runs out, Diffbox keeps working without new change write-ups until it resets.
- Team admins can cancel anytime in Settings → Billing. Payments already made aren't refunded, except where the law requires it.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; the change applies from your next billing period.
3. Your content
Your code, pull requests, comments and reviews stay yours. You give us permission to access, process and store them only as needed to run Diffbox for you, including sending changed code to our AI provider to write up pull requests, as described in the privacy policy. You confirm you have the right to use Diffbox with the repositories you connect.
4. AI write-ups
Diffbox uses AI to describe and assess changes. Write-ups and risk notes can be incomplete or wrong. They help you review; they don't replace your judgment. Check anything important against the code before relying on it. Decisions to approve, merge or deploy code are yours.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use Diffbox to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone's rights;
- access repositories or data you aren't allowed to;
- disrupt, overload, probe or reverse engineer Diffbox, or get around its limits or billing;
- resell Diffbox, or use it to build a competing product;
- violate the terms of GitHub or of our AI provider.
6. Third-party services
Diffbox depends on GitHub and other providers listed in the privacy policy. Their availability and terms are outside our control, and your use of GitHub stays subject to GitHub's terms.
7. Beta
Diffbox is in beta. Features may change or be removed, and there may be bugs or downtime. We'll tell you about significant changes in the app or in the changelog.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using Diffbox and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put Diffbox or others at risk, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it. Sections 3, 9 and 10 continue after your account ends.
9. Disclaimer
Diffbox is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including that Diffbox will be uninterrupted, error-free, or catch every problem in your code.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Diffbox isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what your team paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in advance in the app or by email. Continuing to use Diffbox after a change means you accept it.
